When you first bring Pet Futon home, your pet may not take to it immediately! Don't despair. It is quite normal for it to take some time to introduce a new bed to a pet. With a little patience and encouragement, your pet will learn to love it's Pet Futon and will choose to sleep in it rather than on your furniture.

The easiest method to achieve this is to first teach your pet to "stay". Raise your hand in front of your pets face and say "stay!" Walk a few steps backward and repeat the "stay" command. If your pet stays, reward them with their favourite treat. If they try to follow you, return them to their position and try again, but don't give a treat. Repeat this exercise about 5 or 6 times in a row and at least 3 times a day until your pet learns to stay in position even when you leave the room.

Once your pet gets the hang of the "stay" command, try the same exercise with your pet in its Pet Futon. Eventually your pet will learn to stay in its bed on command. To do this, follow the same method, except lure your pet into its Pet Futon with a treat, and only reward it with the treat after it lies down and stays in the bed. When you lure your pet into the bed, introduce the command "go to your bed".

When rewarding your pet with a treat, always combine it with verbal praise. Eventually your pet will respond to your commands and will be satisfied by your verbal praise alone.

From this point on, your pet will love its Pet Futon.
